An audio file circulating on the Internet, featuring a voice that sounds like Bong Revilla's, has dragged the senator into issues of election fraud in Cavite.
The reelectionist Revilla, in an interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), has denied that the tape is authentic and suggested that it may have been engineered.
He told PEP associate editor Rommel Llanes, at a dinner for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) last night, February 26, that sound bites from old recordings of his voice may have been spliced together to make him sound like he was talking about plans to cheat in the coming May 10, 2010 elections.
The controversial audio file hit the Internet on Friday, February 19, when a certain MrGalingko posted a YouTube video containing a recording of a voice that sounds like Revilla's voice.
Titled "Bong Revilla ang Galing Galing Mo," MrGalingko's video featured Revilla's face beside the recording captions.
Only a phrase saying "Galing Mong Senador, Saludo ako syo!" was posted along with the video, which has been viewed at least 23,800 times (as of February 27, 11:41 a.m.).
According to his user details, MrGalingko joined YouTube on February 19 (the day the video was uploaded), resides in the Philippines, and is 46 years old.
THE AUDIO FILE. MrGalingko's Youtube video accuses Sen. Revilla of masterminding election fraud in Bacoor, Cavite, to ensure victory in the May national elections.
PEP tried to confirm the recording by sending an e-mail to MrGalingko through YouTube on February 25, the day we received information about the Internet audio. But as of press time, we have yet to receive a reply. As of this writing, YouTube records show that MrGalingko's last log-in date was at five in the morning, today, February 27.
Still, MrGalingko's replies to comments on his video upload imply that he is, in fact, the person who recorded the audio and that the recording is genuine.
"secret, pero ang gulo ng tanong mo?????? pano wala ako dun kung ako nagrecord??????" MrGalingko told a YouTube user who was asking about who recorded the audio.
To questions on the recording's authenticity, MrGalingko replied: "hoy di ito peke kahit isumbong mo pa sa idol mo, ng magkaalaman na. Idol mo baka no.1 sa mga kulelat!"
The majority of the 151 existing comments (as of February 27, 11:26 a.m.) on MrGalingko's video say that they believe the recording is authentic. Only a few say that the video is a demolition job against Revilla.
A survey conducted in January by an independent group ranked Revilla as the leading senatorial candidate in the 2010 elections. The January 21 to 24 survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations showed Revilla garnering a 58 percent rating, beating 57 other candidates.
NOTE: Republic Act No. 4200, also known as the Anti-Wiretapping Law, forbids any person—which includes persons from media institutions, like PEP—from publishing the transcription of the 45-second recording. The law also restricts PEP from providing a link to the audio file in this article.
THE CONTEXT. In summary, the recording implies that the senator is involved in election fraud, is using police forces for electoral gain, and is enjoying Malacañang protection.

What a fantasy - di ba - to have someone in government pay for their crimes AND not be pardoned. Ang ganda na sana ng ending kay Erap kaso si GMA - she gave a nightmare ending to it. Hayan tuloy - it continues to haunt her.
I am really disappointed kina Failon and Enriquez dahil palagay ko these days mas may ballzzz pa ako sa kanila. But then again - baka naman their respective networks are stopping them from doing their jobs for commercial and monetary reasons.
At the end of the day-lahat ng may sala - for any crime - should learn to face the music. They need to pay their debts to society. And those that are in one way or another related to any of the defendants or the plaintiffs should let the judicial system run its course.Gaya nalang nitong si Mr Cavite - sobrang obvious that his prints are all over the Pardo case. So paano na - when you dont have money or connections.
Pero wouldnt having a high level of college degree holders be a sign that somehow it is more than just having a high literacy rate. But then again - nothing surprises me as the quality of education has all but deteriorated.
Somehow the technology boom has failed to benefit the quality of education in the Philippines. And sad to say, the popularity of telenovelas has caused damage to the future generation. And this includes its effects on their morality.
What I cant understand is why the greater majority cannot separate fact from fiction?
Marami pa rin sa bayan natin ang naniniwala na the roles these actors portray will be the same way they will deliver their services as politicians.
I dont think they have realized na when Revilla faces the cameras - there is always a script that makes him look good. The rare times na wala - hayun -nakarating ng Youtube courtesy of MrGalingko.
By all indications - the party of Revilla - thru Gibo has been given the Kiss of Death ni GMA. It might actually be Christmas in May. I just hope the punters were correct with this prediction.
Dont look now - Ivler refused treatment daw - to delay the proceedings.
That case and this case - represents what the Philippines is right now - a basket case!
LOL. Its about time people realize na once they have elected someone like him - lahat ng napag usapan at script wala na - kasi tapos na ang palabas.

I am beginning to wonder if I will see the day that the elections in the Philippines will be conducted in the same manner as Australia does.
Uso din dito ang mud slinging, etc during the campaign - its natural - pero to cheat - no way! You wont believe this but they give us pencils to mark our votes. The main listing is simply marked by a cross when we get our ballots. And in 4 hours after the election - everyone knows the results nationwide - with the exception of the so called hot spots. Pero I have never heard of anything as controversial. No guns, nothing. They dont even have mandatory poll watchers. Candidates cannot walk into the precints during the election. Some of them go to the precints and shake your hand - maski level ng Senator.Wala silang kasamang body guard - only their family. EVeryone votes here - otherwise you have to pay the fine - that is about US 400 - no exceptions kahil nasa hospital ka - they will go to you.

I wonder where that person is now. I can only hope no harm has been done to him. You dont want to assume the worst- pero with what people have said in the Youtube videos - it is a reasonable concern.
I was posting on this article this morning - and left it for a few hours. Aba - bigla na lang nawala. Had to google it - and dig. Grabe.
I just hope hindi rin niya Hawak ang ilang bagay sa P!
