Angel Locsin appears in a dramatic role after transferring to ABS-CBN last August. She will be paired with matinee idol Sam Milby for the October 19 episode of Maalala Mo Kaya.
The storyline. Abandoned by their mother, and burdened with an ailing father, Melody (Angel) has to put aside her dreams and act as both mother and father to her family. She works as an assistant for a wealthy doctor. Melody experiences humiliation from her employer's family, who suspect her enthusiasm for her work.
The doctor's son Jeffrey (Sam) eventually comes home from the U.S. Jeffrey despises his stepmom, knowing that she is only after his dad's money. When Jeffrey meets Melody, he also feels suspicious. But a tragic incident happens—Jeffrey's stepmom slashes Melody's face on purpose. Melody is torn between two choices: filing a case against her employer's mistress and use the money she had borrowed for her family, or simply forget about herself and spend the money for her family.
Jeffrey realizes Melody's good intentions and falls in love with her. She reciprocates and her dilemma deepens. Jeffrey urges her to pursue the case and even offers to help her find a lawyer. Thus, Jeffrey comes into conflict with his father. But the two lovers persevere. In the end, Jeffrey lets Melody choose between responsibility and dignity.
