The eight official entries of the 40th Metro Manila Film Festival have earned over P1 billion as the annual event comes to a close.
The MMFF 2014 entries earned P1.014 billion in the box-office from December 25, 2014 to January 7, 2014.
This was revealed by Metro Manila Development Authority chairman and MMFF overall head Francis Tolentino in an interview with InterAksyon.
This figure is said to be 2.6 percent higher compared to MMFF 2013.
During the appreciation dinner for last year's edition, Chairman Tolentino revealed that the entries of the 39th MMFF earned P999,302,000 in a span of two weeks.

The ranking of the top-grossing MMFF 2014 entries have not changed with The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin still in the lead.
It is followed by Feng Shui 2, My Big Bossing and English Only, Please.
Completing this year’s official entries to the MMFF are the following (in no particular order): the Andres Bonifacio bipioc Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo, the horror film Shake, Rattle and Roll XV and the action film Muslim Magnum .357.
