Mocha Uson has been named by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) general manager Tim Orbos as ambassadress of the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival.
This was announced by Orbos, the current acting Chairman of the MMDA and 2016 MMFF over-all chairman.
This move was done by Orbos to "challenge the norm" as he sought the help of the controversial sexy star to help promote the MMFF 2016 entries.
In an interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and select reporters during the MMFF grand press con held last December 15 at the QCX Museum, Mocha said that she is helping the 42nd edition of the MMFF as an "advocate."
How did she get this position?
Mocha recalled that MMDA executives approached her to ask for her help.
"Nilapitan nila ako to support MMFF. Tinawag ako for a meeting with [Chairman] Orbos at mga Executive Committee members kasi gusto nila magkaroon ng pagbabago sa MMFF.
When did she have this meeting with the MMFF?
Mocha pointed out, "One week before the meeting, yung meeting pa noon."
Does she still have plans of going back to acting?
Gabi-gabi po yung show namin."
The leader of the all-female singing and dancing group Mocha Girls said about their shows, "Ngayon mas wholesome na."
In her Facebook page, Mocha revealed last December 17 that she is not being paid for her position as MMFF ambassador. She also denied that this role was given to her for her staunch support for President Rodrigo Duterte.
