Lilet Never Happened star Sandy Talag wins Outstanding Acting award in Mexico

Child actress Sandy Talag won the Outstanding Achievement in Acting Award at the Oaxaca International Film Festival in Mexico for her role in Lilet Never Happened. The film tackles child prostitution.

The Oaxaca film fest is "dedicated to the advancement of outstanding achievement in cinema and to creating opportunities for filmmakers and scriptwriters," ayon sa official website nito.

Kabilang dito ang Mahiwagang Baul, Majika, Lupin, Daisy Siete, My Only Love, Love To Love, Luna Mystika, All About Eve, Totoy Bato, Adik Sa Yo, Ikaw Sana, Sana Ngayon Pasko, Codename: Asero, Obra, JejeMom, Diva, Langit sa Piling Mo, Futbolilits at Amaya.

Sabi ni Groen: “With this movie we really hope to raise awareness about the sad reality of child prostitutes not only in the Philippines, but all over the world.

“I started to make a documentary many years ago when I met a girl, the real Lilet, in a mental hospital one day after she tried to commit suicide.

“It was such a strong story... This story never left my mind. When I came back five months later, I couldn't find her anymore. Then I said I would do this story in a drama film.

“It's not a depressing type of film because the girl I met is a tough kind of girl.”

Pinuri ni Groen si Sandy dahil sa mahusay na pagganap nito bilang si Lilet sa kanyang pelikula.: “Sandy immediately portrayed the girl the way I had in mind. That's how she was and she's really the type who is energetic.

“I was amazed by the transition. Usually when she is on the set as Sandy, she is pretty modest and almost shy.”
