Daniel Padilla-Kathryn Bernardo starrer grosses P15 million on opening day

Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla were holding hands during the premiere of She's Dating The Gangster. This Star Cinema movie reportedly earned P15 million on its first day as typhoon Glenda hit the country.

The Daniel Padilla-Kathryn Bernardo movie, She's Dating The Gangster, grossed P15 million in the box-office on its opening day.

Star Cinema’s advertising and promotions manager, Mico Del Rosario, posted on his Instagram account last July 17:

"P15 Million yesterday alone! Maraming maraming maraming salamat po!!! Love, , #teamgangster #shesdatingthegangster"

KATHNIEL STILL EXCITED. During the press conference of the movie, Kathryn and Daniel admitted that they are still both excited to work with each other.

CHANGES TO THE ORIGINAL STORY. SDTG director Cathy Garcia-Molina revealed that they did a lot of changes to the story that based on the young adult novel with the same title published by Summit Books.

Bianca Bernardino wrote the story of She's Dating The Gangster in 2005. This 2014, the movie's screenplay was written by Carmi Raymundo.

Direk Cathy revealed that they were not faithful to the book.

We had to adjust the story...para lumawak ang kuwento."

MOVIE HIGHLIGHTS. During the recent blog conference for the Kathniel movie, Direk Cathy mentioned that Kathryn and Daniel showed a lot of things for the movie.

Eric John Salut, the host of the blog con, commented that Daniel could be seen wearing sleeveless tops in the movie.

Abangan n'yo yan."

Daniel recalled, "Noong pinagawa sa amin ni Kath yun, 'Oh my God!' Sobrang galing ko."

SHOOTING IN MT. MAYON. One of the key scenes in the movie was actually shot in Mayon Volcano in the Bicol region.

Direk Cathy narrated, "We actually went there.

How was their week-long experience shooting in Albay?

"Masaya siya kasi sa Must Be Love [their 2013 movie], sa Bulacan kami nag-shoot. This time naman sa Bicol.

Daniel narrated, "Madaling araw kami umakyat dun. Mga 3 a.m. Kasi eksena namin sunrise."

Direk Cathy pointed out, "Mahirap paakyat dun kasi walang ilaw dun. Nakiusap lang talaga kami. To be able to capture the sunrise, we have to be there ahead of time.

Daniel continued, "Ang yabang ba niya nun. Kasi bago saka malaki yung [ATV] sa kanya."
