Will Julia Montes go daring in sensual romantic horror movie with Gerald Anderson?

Gerald Anderson and Julia Montes will star in a romantic horror movie to be shot in Baguio City. Director Manny Palo, an alumnus of UP Baguio, resided for 15 years in the "City of Pines."

For the first time, Gerald Anderson is paired up with Julia Montes for an upcoming Star Cinema movie.

JC de Vera also joins them in this film, which director Manny Palo describes as a "coming-of-age story that is a sensual romantic horror love story."

According to Gerald, around 80 to 90 percent of the movie will be shot in Baguio City. The first shooting day is scheduled for September 10.

During the September 2 story conference of the still-untitled movie, Direk Manny told select members of the press:

"It's a love story between the three of them pero at the same time mayroon talagang nangyayari sa kanilang tatlo, an external force that would prevent yung love story to fully bloom and blossom.

"Ibang force ang hahadlang sa pag-iibigan ng tatlo kaya siya may horror element."

(L-R) Gerald Anderson, Julia Montes and JC de Vera will play Gio, Mia and Alvin in an upcoming Star Cinema movie

Direk Manny, who previously worked with Julia in the 2013 movie A Moment in Time, briefly described the character to be portrayed by the 19-year-old actress.

"Julia plays Mia, who falls in love either kay Gio played by Gerald or Alvin played by JC.

"At the same time, it's a coming-of-age film kasi in the story, the character of Mia falls in love for the very first time."

Will Julia go daring for this movie?

Love and the elaboration of love."

But is she willing to shoot daring scenes?

She laughed before answering, "Mayroon silang mga dapat abangan. Ito ang nakaka-excite kasi never ko pang nagawa.

"Lahat ng stories sa movie na ito is about love and horror. And sa character ko, ano ang naghi-hinder sa akin sa love? Ano ang parang pumipigil sa akin na ma-in love? Bakit ko hindi mapu-pursue ang love?"

How will Julia bring out her sensual side?

The Kapamilya actress said with a smile: "Siguro for this film, medyo nagda-diet, work out saka yung [sensuality] workshop. Kasi iba ang mga nakasanayan ko na katrabaho before and iba yung ngayon na bago kaming magkakakasama."

PREPARATIONS. Direk Manny disclosed that this project is close to his heart.

"I'm very, very excited because I lived in Baguio for 15 years. Sa UP [Baguio] ako nag-college and I lived there after college. It's a dream come true for me to do a movie in a city that I am really, really familiar with and I've grown to love."

How do the stars plan to build their rapport?

Gerald revealed, "Magkakaroon kami ng sensuality workshop before we start. Medyo nakakatakot kasi first time ko gagawa ng ganung klase ng workshop."

Julia pointed out, "Actually, magkakakilala naman kami talaga dahil nasa isang station lang naman at nagkakatrabaho kami like sa ASAP.

"Exciting in a way yung workshop kasi dun kami magkakakilala talaga."

Direk Manny says Gerald and JC also have to prepare extensively for them to bring life to Gio and Alvin, respectively.

"The two of them, meron silang guitar lessons, kailangan matuto silang mag-gitara. This week, magkakaroon sila ng bonding at sensuality workshop. Mayroon rin silang basic painting sessions kasi they are playing painters."

In fact, Gerald expects the preparations for this movie to be more time-consuming compared to his other roles, even the time when he portrayed a mentally challenged boy in the teleserye Budoy.

"Itong movie na ito ang may most preparations na kailangan kong gawin. More than yung ibang characters ko tulad ng Budoy.

"Mas maraming preparations dito like guitar lessons, sensuality workshop and first time ko makakatrabaho si Julia as a leading lady."
