Because I Love You lead stars Shaira Diaz and David Licauco led the red carpet premiere of their movie last Tuesday, June 25, at SM Megamall.
This rich-boy-meets-poor-girl romantic-comedy film opened in cinemas last Wednesday, June 26.
Because I Love You marks the first time Shaira and David are top-billing a movie, as individual actors and as a love team.
In the movie, Shaira plays Summer, a firefighter who lives with her mother, played by Samantha Lopez. She meets Rael (David), a rich businessman who falls for her.
David is Rael Tansingco, a rich businessman who lives a lavish life. He is instantly mesmerized by Summer's beauty and her strength as a firefighter.
Celebrity friends and guests showed support for David and Shaira.
Among them, GMA-7 actress Gabbi Garcia, who worked with Shaira in the defunct prime-time series Pamilya Roces.
Gabbi also posed for a photo with director Joel Lamangan, who helmed Because I Love You.
Lamangan is also the director of Pamilya Roces, which ran from October to December 2018 in GMA-7's prime-time block.
Gabbi is currently preparing for an upcoming series called Rosang Agimat, where she plays the title role.
Unfortunately, production for the teleserye had to be postponed owing to the fatal accident on the set of Eddie Garcia, one of the show's lead actors.
ABS-CBN actor Kiko Estrada also attended the premiere.
He and David share the same manager, Arnold Vegafria, who is also a producer of Because I Love You.
Kiko used to be an artist of GMA-7 from 2014 to 2018. He transferred to ABS-CBN in late 2018 to do the upcoming series, Project Kapalaran, with JM de Guzman and Arci Muñoz.
Kiko and David are also currently working together for a movie titled G! LU, also produced by ALV Films.
Sahaya actress Ashley Ortega also attended the red-carpet screening.
Kiko's Project Kapalaran love-team partner Alyssa Muhlach came to the screening with her mother, Almira Muhlach.
Samantha Lopez, who plays Shaira's mother in Because I Love You.
TGIS actress Bernadette Allyson was one of the early birds at the screening. She plays the mother of David in the movie.
Umagang Kay Ganda host and Miss Universe 2013 third runner-up Ariella Arida attended the red-carpet screening. She is also a talent of Arnold Vegafria.
Singer Kris Lawrence performed the theme song of Because I Love You titled "Because," a 1964 hit by Dave Clark Five.
Victor Basa is part of the cast as one of the firefighters.
