The Panti Sisters grossed over P213 million in the global box office.
According to Star Cinema's subsidiary, Black Sheep, this comedy film was able to earn P213,925,708.50 in ticket sales worldwide.
Lead stars Paolo Ballesteros, Martin del Rosario, and Christian Bables are open to doing a sequel of The Panti Sisters.
The cast members are grateful for the overwhelming success of the film produced by Black Sheep. Though it is still in the brainstorming stage, a sequel is now in the works.
Eat Bulaga host Paolo explained during the victory party held recently, “Nung napanood namin, hindi malabong magkaroon, e. Hinihingi talaga ng pelikula na magkaroon [ng sequel]. Pero noong shinu-shoot namin yun, hindi naman namin ine-expect.”
The Panti Sisters was one of the official entries of the third Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino held in September. It tells about the story of three gay brothers (Gabriel, Daniel and Samuel Panti) who must produce a grandchild to get their inheritance of P100 million pesos from their dying father, Don Emilio.
Directed by Jun Robles Lana, the film earned three awards during PPP 2019: Audience’s Choice, Best Production Design, and Best Actor for Martin del Rosario.
