Th Filipino film Write About Love is the recipient of the ABC TV Award during the recently concluded Osaka Asian Film Festival 2020 (OAFF).
Rocco Nacino, Miles Ocampo, Yeng Constantino, and Joem Bascon top-billed this Metro Manila Film Festival 2019 entry that depicts the world of screenwriters.
Director Crisanto Aquino personally accepted the award during the Osaka Asian Film Fest, which took place in Japan from March 6-15, 2020.
The citation for Write About Love described the Pinoy film "as a wonderful comedy that is bright and energetic to watch even though it incorporates serious themes.
"The technical aspects of the film are elaborate as reflected in the aspect ratio. Scenes taking place in the real world are shot in 4x3, the movie scenes are 16x9, and eventually the two worlds are mixed."
Write About Love won several awards in MMFF 2019 including Best Screenplay and Special Jury Prize.
Yeng bagged the won Best Supporting Actress award in last year's MMFF while Joem took home the Best Supporting Actor trophy.
In Write About Love, Miles portrayed a newbie female writer who is tasked to redevelop her script and make it less formulaic. She is guided by a more senior writer played by Rocco. The two screenwriters start to collaborate on the story of a couple who are having problems in their relationship.
The character of Marco is brought to life by Joem while the musician character named Joyce is portrayed by Yeng.
