"Kaya mo ba akong mahalin kahit malaman mo ang totoo?"
This is the intriguing question that Gerald Anderson and JC De Vera alternately asked Julia Montes in the trailer of their upcoming movie, Halik Sa Hangin.
Halik Sa Hangin tells the story of Mia’s (played by Julia) first brush with love as she crosses paths with Gio (played by Gerald) in Baguio.
Mia’s difficult relationship with her mother (played by Ina Raymundo) compels her be reckless with her growing romance with her seemingly mysterious suitor.
Coupled with the secret love of her friend Alvin (played by JC), Mia gets caught in a web of secrets that will threaten to destroy her life and the people around her. This mystery/adventure movie is slated to open in cinemas by January 28, 2015.
Another interesting detail from the trailer of Halik Sa Hangin is the love scene between the characters of Julia and Gerald.
In a recent interview with Gerald, he told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) that Julia was practically shaking with nervousness when they were shooting that part of the movie.
“Ay grabe! Sobra po siyang kinakabahan.
“Nagsa-sign of the cross siya, tapos hinahawakan niya ako ng mahigpit every ano...
“Mararamdaman mo talaga nanginginig siya, namumula siya.
“So, talagang ginagawa ko lahat para maging mas kumportable siya,” said the 25-year-old Kapamilya actor.
Gerald maintained, however, that he admired Julia all the more for portraying her role well despite her nervousness off cam.
“Once na nag-scene na, once na nag-‘Action!’ talagang mas binigay pa nga niya.
“She's only 19 tapos yung role na binibigay sa kanya talagang napaka-challenging at medyo mature.
“Pero it's a coming of age movie naman. Talagang ang daminig hinigi sa kanya, pero binigay niya lahat.”
Given that it’s their first time to work with each other, Julia was grateful that she didn’t have a hard time establishing rapport with Gerald.
“Matagal na kaming magkakilala, nagkakasama sa tour and ASAP. And of course napapanood ko siya sa OTJ [On The Job].
“Pero nung nakita ko kung gaano siya ka-passionate sa work at wala kang maririnig na reklamo, dun ako sumaludo sa kanya,” said Julia in a separate interview.
She was also all praises for JC, who was juggling several projects while shooting Halik Sa Hangin.
“Kay JC aminado ako sobrang tagal kaming nahihiya sa isa’t isa at first. Pareho kami ng handler pero kami yung ang tagal bago maging okay.
“Pero saludo ako sa kanya kasi super segue. Kahit umaga na kami natapos, super hardworking at makikita mo yung [determination] niya sa work.
“Wala kang maririnig na reklamo kahit wala siyang tulog. Makikita mo sa mata niya na fight pa rin siya every time,” Julia related.
Star Cinema's writer Enrico Santos explained that Halik Sa Hangin is not the typical boy-meets-girl love story that ABS-CBN's film outfit is known for.
"Sabi namin, bakit hindi kaya tayo gumawa ng pelikula na baliktad naman?
"May nakilala ka, akala mo meant to be, pero hindi kaya pagkakamali yun?"
To which film director Emmanuel "Manny" Palo added, "Ano bang ibig sabihin ng halik sa hangin? Fleeting, hindi permanent, temporary, pero binibigay mo sa isang taong gusto mo."
