Ang Kontrabida, na may international title na The Villain, ang dalawa sa mga pelikulang nanalo ng Network for the Promotion of Asia Pacific Cinema (NETPAC) Prize for Best Asian Film sa awards ceremony ng 6th Hanoi International Film Festival na ginanap sa Friendship Palace, Ha Noi, Vietnam, Sabado ng gabi, November 12, 2022.
Ang isa pang pinarangalan ng NETPAC Prize ay ang Iranian film na Bone Marrow.
Ang Kontrabida ay pinagbibidahan ng National Artist na si Nora Aunor.

Si Adolf Borinaga Alix Jr. ang direktor ng Kontrabida pero hindi siya nakadalo sa nabanggit na film festival dahil sa lock-in taping niya para sa AraBella, ang upcoming drama series ng GMA Network.
Nalaman ni Adolf mula sa festival committee ang tagumpay ng Kontrabida at nakarating na rin kay Nora ang magandang balita.
“She is very happy with the news. She is thankful to the jury and is excited for her fans to see the film,” pahayag ni Adolf nang eksklusibo siyang makausap ng Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph) ngayong Linggo, November 13.
Hindi naging madali para kay Adolf, sa mga artista at production staff ng Kontrabida na gumawa ng pelikula sa panahon ng coronavirus pandemic.
Kaya naman maligaya ang lahat dahil nakabuo sila ng isang proyektong maganda at binigyan ng parangal sa 6th Hanoi International Film Festival.
Saad ng direktor, “We did the film noong height ng pandemic with all the restrictions, but because of our dedicated team, we were able to pull it off.
“So this small victory is for them. A good memory to look back that during that certain times, we were able to do something special.”
Ibang Nora Aunor ang mapapanood sa Kontrabida.
Ginampanan niya nang buong husay ang contravida character ni Anita Rosales kaya puring-puri siya ni Adolf.
Aniya, “Since Ate Guy plays an actress from the heydays of cinema na kinilala ang galing sa pagiging kontrabida, this is also a role where I think Ate Guy excels best — quiet yet penetrating characters.
“Yung persona ng isang artista on and off-cam at paano niya hinarap ang buhay artista at saan pupunta ang character niya ay tiyak na aabangan.
“From start to finish, susundan natin ang buhay ng karakter niya kaya we will see her nuances. Habang tumatagal, Ate Guy’s instinct as an actress only gets better."
Dagdag ni Alix, “I am always fascinated with character studies of female characters at the crossroads of their lives like what I did sa Adela, Chassis, Mater Dolorosa.
"And Kontrabida is part of that continuing series exploring the persona naman of an actress.
"Plus working with Ate Guy is always a learning experience. I love collaborating with her."
Kasama sa cast ng Kontrabida ang multi-awarded actress na si Jaclyn Jose, at masugid na tagahanga ni Anita Rosales ang karakter na ginampanan niya.

Hindi pa masabi ni Adolf kung kailan maipalalabas sa mga sinehan sa Pilipinas ang Kontrabida dahil mag-uusap pa sila ng mga producer ng kanyang pelikula.
“As of now, the producers are studying for the best playdate for the film. Ngayon pa lang kasi starting to get back to normal and theater and moviegoers,” sabi ni Adolf sa PEP.ph.
