Kris Aquino is still unsure if her movie with Herbert Bautista will be intended for the Metro Manila Film Festival.
“Actually, you're not allowed to say that kasi it will be MMDA na magde-decide kung [papasok sa lineup].
“Maraming nagho-hope na mapili to be part of the festival.
“Pero pinagbawalan ako sabihin kung kailan ang playdate.
“I'm a changed girl. I now obey,” explained Kris when asked about their upcoming movie during her launch as the new endorser of courier service provider LBC.
Kris admitted that she initially thought about the possible outcome of the movie in the box office.
However, she was eventually convinced by Star Cinema managing director Malou Santos to accept the project.
“Tita Malou Santos said I was going to own it,” she said.
“I'm very honest with management na may track record akong pinanghahawakan.
“Meron kaming certain expectations na sa box office from the last several years.
“Parang ang sinabi ko, I don't want to be blamed.
“'Tapos sinabi ni Tita Malou Santos na ang Star Cinema at ang track record ng Star Cinema raw ang ituro ko dahil choice nila 'to.”
According to Kris, the tentative title of the movie is Saving Forever for You.
MISTRESS MOVIE. Aside from doing a movie with Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, Kris will also do another movie with Kim Chiu and Claudine Barretto.
It will based on Julie Yap Daza's book Etiquette for Mistresses.
Kris previously backed out from doing this movie because of a conflict of her contract with one of her endorsements.
She further explained, “Mayroon kasi akong kontrata sa isang produkto na going 10 years ko na silang endorsement.
“And mayroon kasi silang stipulation doon about having the right to approve or disapprove roles that could prove detrimental to the good and wholesome family image of the product.
“Magpapakatotoo ako, 'yong kinikita ko galing sa kanila ay 'di hamak na times 10 sa kikitain sa kahit na anong movie. So, siyempre, pagbibigyan mo sila ng halaga.”
However, Kris said, things changed when she showed the movie storyline to the people behind the brand she endorses.
“Nang pinabasa ko sa kanila 'yong storyline at 'yong characterization ko, na-realize nila na 'yong theme at 'yong title ay may redemption; at 'yon ang napakaimportante sa kanila.”
She summed up this movie by saying, “It's about liberation, redemption, and finally doing what is right.”
