After a long wait, the reunion movie of Aga Muhlach and Lea Salonga will finally happen in 2016.
This was announced by Star Cinema Managing Director Malou Santos during the Chat with the Chairman event last Tuesday.
It will be recalled that Aga and Lea’s movie Sana Maulit Muli was one of the movies digitally remastered by ABS-CBN Film Restoration.

The two also graced the red carpet of the re-mastered movie last July at the UP Film Institute Cine Adarna.
In an interview held at the time, Aga said that they are just waiting for the reunion movie and he wished that it would happen soon.
In an interview with DZMM, Lea was quoted as saying that the warm reception of the screening could triggered producers to push through with their reunion movie.
"Maraming oras na ang nakalipas since we did a movie and then to receive that kind of reception doon sa screening, talagang hindi ako makapaniwala na ganun ang naging pagtanggap ng very, very young audience.
"I think microcosm siya of a possibly bigger market na siguro tatangkilikin din nila yung pelikula namin kung sakaling gumawa kami ng isa pa."
However, the Broadway actress previously said that she cannot do a movie this year because of her packed schedule.
She is currently in The Voice Kids Season 2 as a coach.
After the grand finals of the ABS-CBN reality show, which will happen on August 29 and 30, Lea is set to fly to New York for the musical Allegiance, where she will work with Japanese-American actor George Takei.
Lea is vocal in saying that she is already comfortable working with Aga as her leading man.
“Minsan lang kasi ako gumawa ng pelikula. As in once every 17 years.
"I don’t do movies very often so I want to be with people that I’m already comfortable with.
"There are certain risks that I’d like take when I perform live. But when I do a film, I’d like to stay with a team na nakasanayan ko na."
Before starring in Sana Maulit Muli, Lea and Aga were first paired for the movie Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal?
