That Thing Called Tadhana was chosen as the Best Narrative Feature in the 5th Guam International Film Festival.
This is the first international recognition for the romantic comedy written and directed by Antoinette Jadaone.
Starring JM de Guzman and Angelica Panganiban, this rom-com was able to beat the nominees from Marshall Islands, Taiwan, and another entry from the Philippines, Kid Kulafu.
The Guam IFF official website describes the rom-com as follows: "That Thing Called Tadhana is the story of two trangers who meet in an airport and form a charming friendship in an attempt to mend each other’s hearts."
ACTING AWARD FOR PINOY. Buboy Villar was able to bring honor to the Philippines when he was recognized for his portrayal of a young Manny Pacquiao in Kid Kulafu.
Buboy thanked producer Paul Soriano by posting on his Instagram account (published as is):
"Best Achievement Acting!!! Wow maraming salamat sa sumuporta nang kid kulafu. Una sa panginoon at nagawa nang maayos ang movie at sa staff and crew direk @paulsoriano1017 maraming salamat sa tiwala na binigay nyo at sa family ko na laging sumusoporta sakin. MARAMING SALAMAT PO!"
Kid Kulafu follows Manny Pacquiao’s early days as a child dealing with his family’s search for a home up until the time he faced more challenges as a teenager struggling to make ends meet in General Santos City, Saranggani province. �
Paul Soriano, the director of Kid Kulafu, also congratulated the lead star for this achievement. He posted on his Instagram account: "You deserve it! Proud of you bro!" �
Direk Paul is currently in London to attend the screening of Kid Kulafu at the 2015 Raindance Film Festival.
