Gerald Anderson has started shooting for his new movie with Star Cinema, a post-Valentine offering where Arci Muñoz serves as his leading lady.

This is the first time that the two will be paired on the big screen.

In his Instagram account on tuesday, January 19, Gerald posted a photo where he could be seen shooting scenes together with young actress Jane Oineza.

Last January 17, Gerald attended the story conference of the film together with Arci.

This movie is directed by Dan Villegas, who helmed the MMFF 2015 Best Picture Walang Forever as well as box-office hits English Only Please and The Break-Up Playlist.

According to Direk Dan, this still untitled movie revolves around two people who will find solace with each other after getting out of messy relationships.

The movie will also tackle unlabeled relationships.

"Iyong character kasi ni Ge [Gerald] at saka ni Arci, parehas silang galing sa kumbaga hindi maayos na relationship," said Direk Dan in a video interview from the Star Cinema website.

"Di ba kapag galing ka sa hindi masyadong magandang relationship, nag-a-ano ka, e, kailangan mong i-rebuild yung confidence mo.

"Plus yung relationships na walang label. Basically yung gray area ng relationships."

When Direk Dan found out that he will be working with Gerald and Arci, he said that he could already imagine how will they look onscreen.

"Si Gerald nakawork ko na siya before [noong] cinematographer [ako]. Si Arci, na-encounter ko siya noong napanuod ko yung A Second Chance.

"So ayon parang na-imagine ko yung dalawa parehong okay, so parang nakaka-excite makita iyong dalawa onscreen at saka kung ano yung kaya nilang ibigay."

For Gerald, it was the story that made him want to do the movie.

"I'm very excited dahil sa partner ko, dahil sa project kasi it is a new story na hindi tina-tackle ng Star Cinema madalas.

"It's very relatable sa lahat lalo na sa generation ngayon. Iba na talaga ang meaning ng relationship ngayon.

"Iyon po ang ipapakita namin sa mga tao sa story at sa characters namin," the actor was quoted as saying in an interview with ABS-CBN News.

Arci, on the other hand, said she is excited she to be working with Gerald, especially since this is the first movie what will feature her as the lead actress.

"I'm really excited and it's a very overwhelming feeling since it's gonna be my first movie.

"So I’m really thankful sa opportunity that they gave me and I’m just excited to work with Gerald."

Arci added, "He's my dad’s favorite so when I told him and when he found out, he was really happy! He was excited for me, also."

GETTING TATTOOS. For the movie, Gerald and Arci were required to get matching "tattoos."

When asked how they felt when they underwent "tattooing," they both exclaimed, “Sobrang sakit!”

Gerald also admitted that he is afraid of needles, but he had to overcome his fear just for the movie.

"Talagang takot pa naman ako sa karayom pero ginawa ko to para kay Direk at saka sa movie.

"Ganon na kasi ako ngayon, e. Kailangan kung ano yung nangyayari sa character ko, gusto ko ganoon din nangyayari sa akin sa totoong buhay.

"Kasi ganon din si Arci kaya alam ko magiging maganda 'tong movie na 'to, e."

Direk Dan explained the symbolism of the lead stars' tattoos in the film. "Iyong art na ginawa kay Ge, makanto, so it’s trying to find direction.

"Iyong kay Arci, ang peg namin iyong Cherry Blossom, very romantic iyong character niya, naghahanap lagi ng perfect moment."

The Star Cinema movie is scheduled for a theatrical release by late February 2016.
