Enrique Gil veers away from his usual romantic leading man roles as he stars in the new action drama film Dukot.
A trailer of this movie, which is directed by Paul Soriano, was released today, June 29.
In the movie, Enrique plays Carlo, a man who is abducted by bank hold-uppers.
His family needs to do everything just to have Carlos back.
Ricky Davao, Bing Pimentel, and Shaina Magdayao are cast as Enrique's family in this film produced by Star Cinema and TEN17P.
Christopher de Leon and real-life brothers Alex & Ping Medina are cast as Enrique's kidnappers in the story.
Enrique already posted the official movie poster in his Instagram account last week.
According to the poster, the movie is based on true events.
In fact, the movie has started grinding months ago, based on the Instagram posts of Direk Paul.
This will be the first time that Enrique will be starring in a full-length independent film, though he took part in the 2010 short film Diego and His Brothers.
Aside from this project, Quen is seen weeknights in the primetime series Dolce Amore with Liza Soberano.
Dukot is scheduled to be released in Philippine cinemas next week, July 13.
