Pintakasi, upcoming movie of Piolo and Dingdong, earns Crouching Tigers Award in Macau

Pintakasi, to be directed by Erik Matti (second fron left), is about the massacre of PNP-SAF 44 commandos in pursuit of the terrorist Marwan. Direk Erik received the Crouching Tigers Award along with producer Dondon Monteverde.

Erik Matti and Dondon Monteverde recently received the The Crouching Tigers festival award for their upcoming film Pintakasi.

This upcoming movie of Reality Entertainment won the best pitch at the Crouching Tigers Project Lab, a three-day pitching competition that is part of the 1st International Film Festival & Awards Macau (IFFAM).

Direk Erik revealed during the December 16 press conference of Seklusyon that Dingdong Dantes and Piolo Pascual are slated to star in the film Pintakasi.

This movie is based on the brutal massacre of 44 Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) commandos in pursuit of the terrorist Zulkifli bin Hir (alias Marwan).

According to www.screenanarchy.com, there were only supposed to be three projects to be given grants at the Crouching Tigers Project Lab.

However, due to "the high quality of the projects and filmmakers resulted in a difficult decision, so the jury decided to award 4 projects instead of 3, as initially planned.”

These four entries received cash awards of US$10,000 each:

River Town - Director & Producer Lu Chuan / Producer: Jamie Gordon (USA / China)

Inspector Lou - Director Djo Munga (United Kingdom / Belgium / Democratic Republic of the Congo)

Pintakasi - Director Erik Matti / Producer: Ronald “Dondon” Monteverde (Philippines)

270 San Ma Lo, Macao - Director & Producer: João Pedro Rodrigues & João Rui Guerra da Mata (Portugal)

During the same event held in Macau, Direk Erik's Seklusyon had its world
premiere at the 1st International Film Festival & Awards Macau last December 11—two weeks before the official start of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) on December 25, 2016.
