My Ex and Whys grosses US$1 million from screenings in Middle East, Europe, Asia Pacific, U.S. and Canada.

My Ex and Whys has already reached the P200 million mark in a span of nine days.

This movie of Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil grossed this amount in the Philippine box-office on February 23, according to Star Cinema.

In a separate release sent by ABS-CBN International, it was disclosed that the LizQuen movie earned USD $1 million from screenings in the Middle East, Europe, Asia Pacific, U.S. and Canada.  The film will begin screening in Hong Kong on March 5.

In describing his role, Enrique was quoted as saying: “I play a playboy [named Gio] who will try to prove he has changed.”

Liza portrays Gio’s ex-girlfriend Cali.  “My character is very modern--a blogger who is hesitant to fall in love again. She is afraid to get hurt all over again.”

In My Ex and Whys, the blogger Cali dreams of being a social media influencer. The popularity of her blog skyrockets after her exchange of messages with social media user @DahilListBoy goes viral. She grabs the opportunity and meets him, only to find out that he’s her ex-boyfriend Gio who has once broken her heart and who is now reaching out to win back her heart, on purpose.

To prepare for her role, Liza recalled, “We asked guys about different situations in relationships and why men cheat.”

The film started to grind last year, with some of the scenes shot in the popular tourist spots in South Korea. This film is directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina.

Also starring in the film are Joey Marquez, Ara Mina, Arlene Muhlach, Dominic Roque, Ryan Bang, Neil Coleta, Cai Cortez, and Hyubs Azarcon.

According to ABS-CBN International, My Ex and Whys is on track to either equaling or surpassing the performance of three of the top-grossing Filipino films released by TFC@theMovies in 2016.

These were the Kathryn Bernardo-Daniel Padilla film Barcelona at USD $1.6 million; the Angel Locsin-Vilma Santos movie Everything About Her at USD $1.5 million and the Dingdong Dantes-Angelica Panganiban starrer The Unmarried Wife at USD $1.2 million.
