After getting an X rating from the Movie Television Review and Classification Board (MTR CB), Iza Calzado and Ian Veneracion's movie Bliss has been reclassified as R-18. This psychological thriller will be shown in cinemas starting May 10.

Iza Calzado's psycho-thriller movie Bliss can now be shown in Philippine cinemas.

This was announced by Iza's manager Noel Ferrer through his Instagram account earlier today, April 5.

Bliss finally got an R-18 rating upon its second review with the Movie Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB). It was previously given an X rating, which meant the film was "unfit for public viewing."

This movie directed by Jerrold Tarog will be shown starting May 10, 2017.

Noel wrote, "THIS JUST IN. The new MTRCB panel composed of Direk Joey Romero, Bibeth Orteza, Gladys Reyes, Consoliza Laguardia and Atty. Ogie Jaro reversed the earlier classification and gave the film BLISS a unanimous R-18 WITHOUT CUTS.

"Thank you Direk Bibeth for giving it an R-16. So, mark your calendars - May 10, we will already experience BLISS."

Sir Noel also added that Direk Jerrold might prepare an R-16 version so that the film can be viewed by younger audiences.

"ALSO, Direk Jerrold may be preparing an R-16 version of the film to accommodate more audiences and more theaters.

"(So, we may have 2 versions of this very controversial film, depending on your age-level). We'll keep you posted! SEE YOU IN THE THEATERS. #Bliss #R18 #InCinemasMay10"

Earlier, Iza expressed her hopes that MTRCB will finally lift the movie's X rating as it undergoes a second review.

She wrote in her Twitter account, "Praying for our film, BLISS, as MTRCB does a second screening/review of the film. Praying for a favorable rating this time."

It may be recalled that before the film got an X rating from MTRCB, Iza gave pride to the Philippines by winning the Best Actress award at the Osaka Film Festival 2017 for her performance in Bliss.

However, MTRCB decided to give it an X rating due to "explicit nudity scenes."
