ABS-CBN chief content officer Charo Santos-Concio will do another movie with critically-acclaimed director Lav Diaz.
The lady boss of ABS-CBN divulged that this film about an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) will be shot in Singapore.
She revealed about her upcoming movie, “The entire film will be shot in Singapore.
"It’s about an OFW who comes home to bury her son but na-delay yung flight niya so she had to stay in the Singapore airport.
"She met young OFWs during the transit. And then she got to know the way of thinking of these young OFWs."
Charo also added that the movie will mirror the mindset of the modern-day young OFWs.
She continued, “Yes, they work hard for their families but they are also thinking of themselves.
"Hindi na katulad noong previous generation na nakakalimutan ang sarili, ang nasa isip lang nila ay yung pamilya nila. They forget about their own happiness. They forgot to love themselves."
About her character, she said, “Come to think of it, di ba, she’s been serving a family for 20, 30 years.
"Pamilya mo na rin yun. She decides to go back.”
It may be recalled that Charo staged her acting comeback in the 2016 film Ang Babaeng Humayo, which was also directed by Lav.
The movie received the Golden Lion trophy at the prestigious 73rd Venice International Film Festival.
Charo also received a Best Actress nomination for Ang Babaeng Humayo at the 11th Asian Film Awards.
No other details about Charo's movie have been released.
