The Alesssandra de Rossi-Empoy Marquez film Kita Kita has already grossed P200 million in the box-office.
This was revealed by Erickson Raymundo last night, July 30, eleven days after the rom-com made its premiere on July 19.
Erickson is one of the pioneers behind the production company Spring Films. He and his fellow producers--director Joyce Bernal, Shayne Sarte, and actor Piolo Pascual--financed this movie featuring the AlEmpoy love team.
Kita Kita revolves around a tourist guide named Lea (Alessandra) who gets temporary blindness. While nursing her broken heart, she falls in love with her neighbor named Tonyo (Empoy).
This film shot in Hokkaido, Japan, is Graded A by the Cinema Evaluation Board.
It is directed by Sigrid Bernardo of Ang Huling Cha-Cha ni Anita and Lorna fame.
In an interview with PUSH, Alessandra revealed that there is another movie being lined up for her and Empoy.
She hinted that producers want to shoot the new film in Iceland after shooting Kita Kita in Japan.
"May naririnig akong chismis na Iceland ang next nating na gagawin so sana, sana. Bakit naman hindi? Pero iyon nga ang maganda sa amin ganito lang kami masaya lang," Alex was quoted as saying.
