Suzette Doctolero on Nabubulok: "Ul*l yun"; cinematographer Neil Daza responds

GMA-7 headwriter Suzette Doctolero and cinematographer Neil Daza have word war due to Cinemalaya 2017 entry Nabubulok.

The Cinemalaya 2017 entry Nabubulok has triggered a word war between two players of the entertainment industry.

Suzette Doctolero described Nabubulok as bulok (rotten) when she wrote a negative review about the film directed by first-time movie director Sonny Calvento.

Incidentally, Sonny is a writer for ABS-CBN shows such as Apoy sa Dagat and Reputasyon.

Suzette, GMA headwriter and Creative Consultant for Primetime in GMA Network, also wrote "Ulol yun" and "Tengeneng movie yun" as she ranted about the suspense thriller. Starring Jameson Blake, JC Santos, and Gina Alajar, this film depicts the search for a missing woman who is belived to be killed by her American husband.

Suzette encouraged people to watch the Cinemalaya 2017 Respeto starring rapper Abra.

Here's what Suzette wrote on her Facebook page:

"Panoorin niyo ang pelikulang Respeto ngayong Cinemalaya festival at napakaganda niya. Sulit.

Susko. Kamura-mura sa kachakahan. Pero kung gusto nyong magmura sa inis the whole day then go watch it.

"Bakit ba napasama sa cinemalaya yun? Wala na bang ibang deserving? Sayang ang slot. At pera! Mas maraming mahuhusay na tagagawa ng pelikula. Ulol yun. Ayan, napamura na naman ako. Tengeneng movie yun. Ayst. Nagmura uli ako. Yoko na. Bye."

Neil Daza, the cinematographer of Nabubulok, responded by posting on his Facebook page: "Speaking of RESPECT. We promise to live up to your standard next time.”

Neil has won eight times for his works, including a Gawad Urian Best Cinematography trophy for the Cinemalaya 2014 entry Bwaya.

Suzzette, who is known for her work on Encantadia, Amaya and My Husband's Lover, wrote another Facebook post telling Neil not to be too sensitive and asked him to respect her opinion as a paying audience member.

Here is her message for the cinematographer of Nabubulok (published as is):

"Neil Daza.

Hello. Irespeto nyo kaya ako as an audience pwede?

Opinyon nila iyon e).

Nyt."
