Did you know that Judy Ann Santos was supposed to do a fourth movie with the late Rico Yan back in the early 2000s?
This movie could have been the sequel to Judy Ann and Fernando Poe Jr.'s 1999 film Isusumbong Kita Sa Tatay Ko.
However, the movie did not push through because of Rico's untimely death in March 2002.
Judy Ann said, "At that time, before Rico passed, dapat comeback movie namin ni Rico yung part two ng Isusumbong, yun yung original.
"Ang alam ko ha, I'm not sure kung ano pero yun yung narinig ko na parang pagbabalik ng love team namin and then part two nga ng Isusumbong."
In fact, it was even FPJ--whom Judy Ann calls Tatay Ron--who came up with the idea of Rico being a part of the sequel.
"Si Tatay Ron actually yung nakaisip na dapat si Rico yung maging partner [ko].
"And then Rico passed and then FPJ passed, ako na lang yung natira.
"So wala nang magsusumbong, wala nang pagsusumbungan so baka iremake na lang to! Baka remake na lang siya," she said with a laugh.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and TV Patrol were able to spoke to Judy Ann during the special screening of the digitally restored version of Isusumbong Kita Sa Tatay Ko yesterday, August 17, at SM North EDSA Cinema.
Rico and Judy Ann were originally love team partners wayback in the '90s.
Rico served as the third wheel to Judy Ann and Wowie de Guzman in the second chapter of Mara Clara in 1995.
Even though he was only a third wheel, Rico and Juday earned their own fanbase, the reason why they were paired in the youth-oriented series Gimik.
Eventually, in teleseryes, Rico was paired with Claudine Barretto, while Judy Ann resumed her love team with Wowie.
However, they were still able to do two movies: Paano Ang Puso Ko? (1997) and Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay (1998).
Judy Ann also had a special appearance in Gimik: The Reunion (1999) towards the end of the film and had a short reunion with Rico's character.
