Maja Salvador reveals that she was offered to do a horror film for the recent Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), but that she begged off to put family first.
The 29-year-old actress has been busy taping the ongoing ABS-CBN’s prime-time series Wildflower through 2017, and wanted to visit her mother in Canada during the Christmas break.
Speaking to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Maja says, “May horror dapat for Metro Manila Film Fest, pero hindi ko talaga kaya, e.
“Ang December ko nilalaan ko for family time kasi nga tumotodo ako nang ibang buwan.
“Saka first time na hindi ko makakasama mommy ko nang Christmas and New Year kung tatanggap ako ng trabaho ng December.”
Maja’s mom, Thelma Andres, migrated to Canada after marrying Canadian Roy Linklater on December 19, 2017.
WORTH HER HARD WORK. Certainly, much of her energy has been exhausted by her dramatic portrayal of Lily Cruz in the ABS-CBN teleserye Wildflower.
But Maja believes all her hard work is “worth it.”
She says, "Okay lang, kasi grabeng blessing naman.
“Ilang beses kami na-extend, thank you, Lord.”
With Wildflower down to its last few weeks, what should viewers watch for?
Maja's character, Lily, exacts revenge against the cruel Emilia (Aiko Melendez) and Julio (Tirso Cruz III).
At this point, the characters of Arnaldo (RK Bagatsing), Helena aka Red Dragon (Zsa Zsa Padilla), and Raul (Wendell Ramos) have already died in the story.
WOMEN EMPOWERMENT. Maja credits the success of their show to the creativity of their directors and writers.
Talking about all the scenes in the show that went viral, she said, “Taas kamay sa writers at directors kasi sila lahat nag-iisip nun.
Most of all, she’s proud of the way Wildflower promoted "women empowerment."
