BuyBust, starring Anne Curtis, will be shown in North American cinemas this 2018, followed by a digital and home video release.

BuyBust, the action film of Anne Curtis, will soon be screened in the United States.

The North American rights were recently acquired by Well Go USA Entertainment. This was announced by the company during the 68th Berlin International Film Festival in Germany.

Well Go USA will release the film to North American theaters later this year, followed by a digital and home video release.

For this reason, BuyBust will no longer open in Philippine cinemas on February 28 as earlier announced.

Written by Anton Santamaria from a story by Matti, this film also stars Filipino-American Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) champion Brandon Vera.

Joross Gamboa, Mara Lopez, Nonie Buencamino, AJ Muhlach, and Victor Neri also star in this movie to be distributed by Viva Films.

This epic action thriller with a political component revolves around two teams deployed by an anti-drug enforcement agency, who are tasked with initiating a drug bust in the slums of Manila.

In BuyBust, Anne Curtis stars as Nina Manigan, a rookie officer who has just joined an elite anti-narcotics squad.

Rushed into a poorly planned buy-bust mission, her squad (including her partner Rico, played by Brandon Vera) quickly find themselves trapped in the most dangerous slum in Manila.

With their cover blown and no backup coming, they must shoot, stab, slash, and fight their way out, hunted not only by criminals but also the local citizens fed up with being caught in the crossfire.

Hollywood Reporter quoted Well Go USA’s Dylan Marchetti, who described the Filipino director as follows:

"Erik Matti is always top of class when it comes to Filipino genre films, but with BuyBust, he has truly outdone himself.

“If you lose your mind for an amazing action film, the last hour of BuyBust is going to blow your head clean off.”

Well Go USA is the same company that snapped up Erik Matti’s On The Job for international distribution in 2013 during the Cannes Film Festival.

This company also bought the rights to Train to Busan, the hit Korean zombie apocalypse thriller.

Last January 21, Anne revealed that they finished shooting BuyBust after two years. She posted her Instavid with Brandon Vera and wrote in the caption:

"And that’s a wrap! At 6:30am I am officially done filming for BUYBUST. 2 years in the making and we can’t wait for all of you to watch what we’ve worked so hard on! @brandonthetruthvera and I giving life to the word KILIG here. Thank you Direk @erikmatti This is it! #BUYBUST Coming to Cinemas REAL SOON"
