If Kisses Delavin could have her way, she does not want to have a permanent love team.
This is contrary to her prior wish to have an official partner when she joined show business.
She revealed this during an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and entertainment bloggers during an April 24 visit to the set of her upcoming movie Walwal.
Kisses used to be part of a love team with Marco Gallo but they had a falling out, which caused their love team to break apart.
Currently, Kisses is being paired with two different actors in her projects.
She is doing the movie Walwal and the ABS-CBN teleserye Playhouse with Donny Pangilinan, while she is also gearing up for an online show with Tony Labrusca.
Both partnerships have already garnered their own fanbase, called DonKiss (Donny and Kisses) and TonKiss (Tony and Kisses), respectively.
Last April 16, Kisses took to Twitter to explain why fan wars between her team-ups should be put to an end.
She wrote (published as is), "hello! i believe that you won't lose sight of the fact that I & the people I work with, are solo artists- no such thing as "official loveteam". I trust that you know there's no use in fighting/bashing because people i work with right now have projects soon w/ a different partner
"We as artists are here in showbiz to inspire, make people happy, not the other way around. To make a positive effect in this world, one person at a time, that's the best legacy we artists can leave in this industry."
PEP.ph asked what triggered her to tweet about this topic.
The former Pinoy Big Brother housemate answered, "Yeah, I tweeted, talagang sobrang nasasad ako kasi dati, it used to be very simple. Mag-gue-guesting kami sa TV tapos yun na.
"Tapos parang bigla na lang, out of a sudden, marami nang nagpipit on each other kasi gusto nila ganito, ganun.
"Parang it really makes me sad kasi ang buhay, napakaikli lang so why would people waste their time, ayoko nang may mawaste na time sa kanila na sad sila."
It seemed like her tweet served its purpose since her fans respected her decision.
"Well, I think yung talagang na-respect nila yung decision ko, ng management, at saka ng mga ka-partners ko.
"Kasi lahat naman kami, solo, so na-appreciate ko talaga yung fact na isu-support niya ako, tapos isusupport niya rin yung mga ka-loveteam ko na wala nang away away.
"Parang nabawasan talaga [yung bashing] kasi yung mga supporters ko, I'm really proud of them kasi sinespread nila yung good vibes, nagiging ehemplo sila na walang bangayan."
DONKISS. In Kisses's two acting projects: the movie Walwal and the upcoming series Playhouse, she is paired with Donny Pangilinan.
With their acting projects together, does this mean that Donny is now the official love team partner of Kisses?
In Walwal, which opens in cinemas on June 27, Kisses plays Ruby, the classmate of Donny's character Bobby who share the same passion for films.
Sweet scenes are expected from the DonKiss love team in this film.
In fact, as Kisses revealed, their director Jose Javier "Joey" Reyes added more scenes for the DonKiss love team.
"Actually, I'm very happy kasi yung original na scenes namin, halos patapos na and then Direk Joey added more scenes for me and Donny.
"Na-touch ako kasi he would go all the way... yung kailangan pang gagawa ng eksena, ginawa niya 'yon for us kasi gusto niya talaga makakita ng more from us, na-touch talaga ako noong nabasa ko noong script."
What did she discover from Donny upon working with him for a long time?
"Na-discover ko talaga na he's funny, siguro hindi niya alam.
"Parang may sense of humor siya na hindi niya alam, nagjo-joke na siya. Hindi ako tumatawa pero naisip ko, nakakatawa ito!"
The potential of their team-up was first seen when Donny became the escort of Kisses during her 18th birthday party in May 2017.
Kisses recalled, "May gulat factor, kasi alam mo yung sinabi sa 'kin na, 'O, Kiss, wala kang escort.'
"'Tapos, 'O, eto na pala escort mo,' 'Ah okay, hi.'
"And then bigla namang nagmeet na naman kami for this project so laging nagugulat na wow, okay, thank you for the opportunity so masaya lang."
How did their relationship as love team partners change from that first time that they met each other?
"Noong una naming sayaw, siyempre, we don't know each other that much and siyempre, nagmeet lang kami doon.
"Pero ngayon we kind of know something about each other now and then medyo nagegets ko na rin, medyo nagegets na rin namin yung isa't isa somehow.
"Mas masaya siyempre yung ngayon, kasi dati nahihiya ako."
