Anne Curtis on working with Dingdong Dantes again after TGIS: "After 20 years in the making, I guess it helped in a way na nagkatrabaho na kami dati. Ngayong nagka-work kami, medyo kumportable, hindi nagkakailangan."

“20 years in the making.”

This is how Anne Curtis and Dingdong Dantes described their upcoming movie, Sid & Aya, during its press conference last May 17.

The Kapuso actor and Kapamilya actress are grateful that they're given a chance to work together again, as partners this time, 20 years after being part of GMA-7's hit youth-oriented weekly series titled TGIS.

Anne said their experience working together in TGIS helped them become comfortable with each other on the set.

“So, after 20 years in the making, I guess it helped in a way na nagkatrabaho na kami dati.

“Ngayong nagka-work kami, medyo kumportable, hindi nagkakailangan.

“I guess it worked in our favor na nagka-work na kami 20 years ago.

Ngayon same pa rin, so masaya.”

Dingdong also talked about the familiarity between him and Anne, which made their work easier.

He recalled, “ If I remember it correctly, at that time, she was 14 years old.

“Talagang very familiar kami sa kanya.

“That's why yung familiarity, hindi siya nawala even 20 years pa ang nakalipas bago kami nagsama.

“Actually, ako personally, I think, I'm somehow stuck in the '90s. Nagkakilala kami in the '90s.

“The theme of the film is somehow related to the people from the '90s experience.

“Like now, mahilig tayo sa mga throwback.

“That's why we're grateful, especially ako, na finally, after 20 years ay nagkatotoo na.”

Director Irene Villamor said Dingdong and Anne are perfect for the roles of Sid and Aya, respectively.

She explained, “It was a concept na kailangan ng hindi takot na artista.

“I like that she was... sinabi niya na gagawin niya, naiintindihan niya.

“Medyo mahirap kasi ang role, so dapat walang takot.

“Parang sina Sid and Aya, wala silang takot.

“They are flawed. Sabi nga, hindi sila mabubuting tao.

“At right time na 'to, na pareho silang nasa posisyon na mabuti na lang kaya nila gumawa ng ganitong materyal kaya thankful ako.”
