Anne Curtis is thrilled over the success of her current film, Sid and Aya: Not A Love Story.
Even though Anne and her co-star, GMA-7 actor Dingdong Dantes only did a few promotions for the film together, the It's Showtime host thanked the audience for spreading its positive reviews.
"Ang hirap talaga kapag ang dalawang lead stars mo hindi nasa isang network. Hindi kayo nakakapag-promote together," the ABS-CBN star told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and reporters at a recent Listerine event.
"It's really word of mouth and social media [that promoted the film].
"Kaya nagpapasalamat kami sa lahat nang nanood at sa lahat nang umuulit pa sa pag-watch. "
With the film's success, Anne believed it hinted at Filipino moviegoers' current preference for local films.
She continued, "It just goes to show na ang Filipino audience ngayon ay ready na sila sa kuwentong ganon.
"Very real, nakaka-relate [yung characters]. Hindi siya formula, so nakakatuwa.
"Hindi siya mainstream! So, I guess, iyon ang maganda doon.
"Gusto na pala ng Pinoy nang ganon, yung hindi siya formula film.
"Walang sobrang malinis na character. Parang nakakatao iyong mga character."
BUY BUST. Anne has two more films in the pipeline.
Many fans have anticipating the release of Buy Bust, her first-ever action film.
Erik Matti, the film's director, teased earlier this Saturday, June 16, that the film is inching closer to its release.
He tweeted, "Just came from our 2nd cinema check of #BuyBust and each time I see something to correct.
"A muffled sound, a muted piece of music, a muddled picture contrast or a stop darker than the grading.
"Inch by inch, getting closer to letting go and it’s all yours my dear audience. #almost"

On her part, Anne is also waiting for the studio's final say.
"Hinihintay ko lang mag-announce iyong Reality [Entertainment]," she told reporters.
The film is also slated for an international release.
NEW HORROR FILM. Anne is currently working on her next film called Aurora.
The film, which began its shoot in Batanes last month, is directed by Yam Laranas.
Yam is best known for his work on The Road, a 2011 psychological thriller that elevated Alden Richards as an actor.
Anne teases Aurora as an "elevated horror" film.
