Buy Bust finally gets a new release date in Philippine cinemas.
The highly-anticipated action thriller will be released on August 1, 2018.
Anne Curtis, the film’s lead star, made the announcement through her social media accounts.
The Erik Matti-helmed film was initially slated to open on February 28 but it was postponed after it was announced that the film will be shown in the U.S.
Buy Bust is one of the two Filipino films slated to have its world premiere at the 17th edition of the New York Asian Film Festival.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center, which co-presents the New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF), describes Buy Bust as follows:
"On the surface, it is structured like an action film in the vein of The Raid, with superstar Anne Curtis and MMA world champion Brandon Vera as narcs taking down a drug kingpin against insurmountable odds over one unrelenting rainy night. The film employed 309 stuntmen and features a wildly ambitious three-minute, one-cut action scene.
"Being a Matti film, it also offers a searing perspective on the ongoing drug war and broader issues of political corruption."
A total of six Philippine films are included in this year’s roster.
The Erich Gonzales-starrer film, We Will Not Die Tonight, will have its world premiere on the film festival’s opening night on June 29. In this film directed by Richard Somes, Erich portrays a stuntwoman trying to survive a single night.
Other Philippine films included in the lineup are Mikhail Red’s Neomanila, Alberto "Treb" Monteras II’s Respeto, Irene Villamor’s Sid and Aya (Not A Love Story), and Erik Matti’s On the Job.
Respeto is one of seven movies in the Main Competition, now dubbed the Tiger Uncaged Award for Best Feature Film.
Neomanila (which is about a “mother-and-son” death squad); Respeto (which is set in the milieu of rap battles); and Buy Bust have been described by the NYAFF as three "strong films that examine the nation’s ongoing drug war."
Buy Bust will premiere on the film festival’s closing night on July 15.
Erik Matti, Anne Curtis, and her Buy Bust co-star Brandon Vera will be in attendance.
