Heart Evangelista will not be part of Crazy Rich Asians movie sequel.
She confirmed this when she faced the press during the August 23 launch of her Have a HEART for Aspins campaign for the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
She said with a smile, "No, no, no. Not true."
In the books written by Kevin Kwan, Crazy Rich Asians has two more sequels: China Rich Girlfriend and Rich People Problems.
Rumors came out that she'll be part of the next movie installment after she was included in the "These Are the Real Crazy Rich Asians" feature of fashion magazine Harper's Bazaar US.
Heart shot the feature with three other Asian style icons and Kevin Kwan during the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week 2018 in July.
Prior to this feature, Heart admitted in an interview with GMANetwork.com that she auditioned for a role in the Hollywood movie. In fact, Heart said she "almost got the part."
During the campaign launch, the 33-year-old actress revealed a few details about her audition.
"Actually, I did audition for Crazy Rich Asians. I didn’t say anything.
"It was just a what-if for me.
"That was the time I was trying to get pregnant. I just needed to get it out of my system.
"Although Hollywood for me is really too far of a dream, too big na hindi ko siya iniisip. But I did it, I auditioned."
Heart also said that she hired a group to help her film the audition piece.
Crazy Rich Asians, which features Kris Aquino in a cameo role and Fil-Am comedian Nico Santos, is currently being shown in cinemas.
