The Internet has been abuzz with speculations about Heart Evangelista's latest trip to China.

Does it have something to do with the much-anticipated sequel to the Hollywood box-office hit Crazy Rich Asians?

The China Rich Girlfriend is the second installment to the three-part best-selling novel of Kevin Kwan, with Crazy Rich Asians as the first book and Rich People Problems as the third and final book.

At her solo presscon last December 13, Heart was noncommittal when asked if it's true that she has been tapped to be part of the movie version of China Rich Girlfriend.

"I really don't know what to say about that. But I'm very good friends with Kevin Kwan," said Heart, who seemed obviously flattered by the mere idea of being cast in the internationally-renowned movie franchise.

Heart previously admitted that she auditioned during the casting call for Crazy Rich Asians in 2017.

The Kapuso actress was later told that she "almost" got the part, but she did not elaborate why she eventually didn't make the cut.

Has Kevin asked her to be part of the second movie?

All Heart said in response was another non-committal smile, and quickly added that she's just grateful for all the opportunities that came her way since she and Kevin became friends.

In July 2018, Kevin was instrumental in including Heart in Harper's Bazaar Magazine's "These Are The Real Crazy Rich Asians" feature, which was published during Paris fashion week.

"Just by doing Harper's Bazaar, the doors that opened for me in other countries—super flattering!

"But for sure, magsasama-sama tayo sa sinehan, but I'm not really sure if Ill be doing a movie with them."

What Heart happily shared was that some of the things she'll be busy with in 2019 involve work commitments abroad together with her new talent management, GMA Artist Center.

She officially signed up with GMA's talent management arm on December 13, 2018.

"I'm so thankful. We would be doing a lot of things abroad. I wish I can say, but it's just my personal experience when something really amazing is about to happen and you say it out loud, the bad spirits will take it away.
