Rick Price, best known for his massive hit song "Heaven Knows,” will hold a Valentine’s concert in the Philippines this 2019.
The '90s singer-song writer will perform for Filipinos this Friday, February 15, at the New Frontier Theater in Cubao.
Rick, who is also behind other chart-topping hits such as “Nothing Can Stop Us Now,” “Not A Day Goes By,” “Walk Away Renee,” and “Where Is The Love” told members of the Philippine media that he was brokenhearted when he was writing the song “Heaven Knows.”
“Yes, [I was heartbroken]. That was tragic. I think that’s not a bad thing because it showed how much I loved the person. Because people don’t leave for no reason, they leave for a reason. They stay only for a period of time.
"The inspiration of my song...what it really means is that we have to learn to let go because we can’t own them. It’s the end of that relationship, not the end of the world,” he explained during his February 11 press conference held at the Marco Polo Hotel.
This marks his second time to perform in the Philippines since 1992.
Rick then gave his observation about Filipinos in general:
“There’s gentleness in the spirit of the Filipino people, there’s kindness. I don’t think there’s any great quality that a human being can have than spirit of kindness so from that perspective, it’s pretty overwhelming to come to a country with so much of it. That’s pretty special so I feel privileged to be here.”
As for the secret to his longevity, he attributes this to his attitude towards life.
“I enjoy living in the present. You have to appreciate what it is and part of my dreams is to really enjoy every moment, pay attention to everything’s that’s going on and to don’t take myself too seriously.”
The Heaven Knows Tour 2019 is produced by Wilbros Live.
Pinoy singers Joey Generoso and Jinky Vidal will join the '90s balladeer during his concert.
Joey Generosa, popularly known as Joey G., is the former lead vocalist of Side A, an iconic band that made a remarkable impact in the local music scene. Joey rose to fame for his love songs “Forevermore” and “Got To Believe In Magic.” He is also known for his songs “Hold On,” “So Many Questions” and “Set You Free.”
Jinky Vidal, the former female lead vocalist of Freestyle, made an impact in the local music scene for Freestyle’s well-loved hits such as “Before I Let You Go,” “So Slow,” “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang?” and “This Time.”
