"I realized, marami pa pala akong gustong gawin. Apart from being a producer, na ini-enjoy ko now, kahit alam kong mahirap din, I still want to become a director someday," says Angel Locsin.

Young actress Angel Locsin is dipping her fingers into the business that Regal matriarch Lily Monteverde has mastered all these years—being a movie producer.

Angel has set up her own Eagle Eye Productions, along with manager Becky Aguila and some incorporators. Angel's first movie as a producer is aptly titled Angel, a trilogy with no less than three of the country's most promising directors to handle each story.

Dingdong Dantes directs Marvin Agustin and Paolo Paraiso in "Daddy's Angel," Mark Reyes directs "Angel Love" with Jennylyn Mercado and Patrick Garcia, and Ms. Gina Alajar is at the helm in "Angel of Mine" where Angel herself stars with Ketchup Eusebio, Aiza Marquez, twins Bianca and Katrina Aguila, and Eunice "Charming" Lagusad.

"I realized, marami pa pala akong gustong gawin," says Angel. "Apart from being a producer, na ini-enjoy ko now, kahit alam kong mahirap din, I still want to become a director someday.

She adds, "I am also contemplating on taking up fashion designing para naman sa future business na gagawin ko with some friends in the future. Yun, pa-plantsahin pa namin ‘yon. That is the reason why gusto kong matutunan lahat ng pinapasok ko."

Now, she's doing producing hands-on, but not without the hassles.

"Mahirap na masaya in a way," admits Angel. Pero sa lahat ng shooting, I make it a point na I am there to see how things are going.

"Like nung maaksidente si Paolo sa set, sa scene he was doing with Marvin.

‘Di ko alam how to react. So far, yun ang masasabi kong hitches. But other than that, maganda naman ang flow ng shooting ng bawat episode."

Other than being hands on where the production side is concerned, Angel also took it upon herself to personally talk to some of the stars in the film, as well as her director, the award-winning actress Gina Alajar.

And true to her being a true-blue producer, Angel has acquired the services of the actors of both ABS-CBN and GMA-7.

Bale first time niya ako madirek.

Yun dapat ang first movie niya as a director." (Gina was replaced by Eddie Garcia on the said film that starred Lorna Tolentino.)

It's no secret that in the past, she had some kinda falling out with her manager Tita Becky. Has everything been resolved now that they are entering a new partnership?

Lahat, e, maayos na now," says Angel smiling.

Angel, the producer, says that as far as the financial breakdown of her production is concerned, she leaves it all to her production manager, and of course, to her partner, Becky. According to Angel, Becky reports to her everything that needs her approval.

As of this writing, Angel confirmed that her budget for the movie would amount to about P5 million. No need to keep it under wraps, she says. She pays her taxes on time and she has an accountant to take care of that.
