Fresh from their recent career milestones, Eugene Domingo in her critically-acclaimed and commercially well-received 2011 Cinemalaya entry, Ang Babae sa Septic Tank and Toni Gonzaga being hailed as SM Cinema's Box-Office Queen for 2010 for My Amnesia Girl, Star Cinema and Octo Arts Films bring together Uge and Toni in their latest film offering, Wedding Tayo Wedding Hindi.
Uge and Toni will demonstrate on the big screen the highs and lows, the if's and but's, at ang lahat-lahat na tungkol sa kasal, pagpapakasal at pagiging kasal.
This movie is directed by Jose Javier Reyes, who helmed the Judy Ann Santos-Ryan Agoncillo starrer about married life: Kasal Kasali Kasalo and its sequel Sakal Sakali Saklolo.
Toni and Uge play close cousins in this movie. One is trying to end her marriage and the other trying to get married. Together they will discover and rediscover the most important lessons on staying married and getting married. Tipong excited bride and exhausted wife ang drama ng dalawa.
In a video interview with MyChos, Eugene revealed details about her character in this movie:
"This is written by Joey Reyes. Ang character ko ay married na, siguro 10-15 years. Maraming-maraming problema na ang pinagdaanan bilang may asawa at dumating na sa punto na hindi na sila magkasundo ng asawa niya. Ang asawa ko dito is played by Wendell Ramos.
"Ang pinsan dito ni Precy [Eugene's character] ay si Belay at gagampanan ni Toni Gonzaga," says Uge.
Ito naman ang masasabi ni Toni tungkol sa kanyang karakter sa pelikula: "Istorya ito ng dalawang pinsan na gaganapin ni Uge at ako. Isang magpapa-annul at isang gustong magpakasal. Magsisimula ang story na probinsyana ako, mahinhin at conservative. Napunta ako sa Japan tapos pag-uwi, naging Japayuki na. Pati yung ugali, makeup, pananalita naging babaeng bakla. Nakakatuwa ang twist ng storya niya."
Co-produced by Star Cinema and Octo Arts, Wedding Tayo Wedding Hindi also stars Zanjoe Marudo and Wendell Ramos. The movie will open on August 31, 2011 in cinemas nationwide.
