South Korean boy band, Infinite, returns to Manila for its One Great Step concert tonight, November 3, at the SMART Araneta Coliseum at 7 p.m.
This is the group's second visit to the Philippines this 2013. Earlier this year, the seven member boy band visited the country for the Dream Kpop Fantasy Concert along with other K-pop groups: Girls Generation, EXO, Tasty, U-KISS, and Tahiti.
Infinite—composed of Sungkyu, Dongwoo, L, Hoya, Woohyun, Sungyeol and Sungjong—met their Filipino fans during their arrival yesterday, November 2, at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1. A press conference was held in the afternoon at Crowne Plaza in Ortigas Avenue.
The members of Infinite are currently promoting their latest album Destiny but this did not hinder them from having fun while in the Philippines. When asked how they like to spend their free time, Hoya pointed out that they all enjoy doing various activities. He admitted that he likes swimming while Sungkyu likes catching up on sleep. They also like taking pictures and spending time with family members. Dongwoo even brought his parents with him in the Philippines.
During the press conference, members were asked for the inspiration behind the song "Destiny," which is the carrier single of the album. Hoya answered that through this song, they want to emphasize that their fans are their "destiny" because they cannot be apart from them.
Dongwoo added that for their latest single, they went for a more manly look. He also excitedly narrated how they shot the music video for their latest track at Universal Studios.
Sungyeol revealed that the group really wanted to come back to the Philippines because they were really touched by the support shown by their Filipino fans during their first visit.
Meanwhile, Myung Soo (also known as L) invited fans to watch their first solo concert in Manila. L assured fans that they will be performing their chart-toppings hits that they performed on TV. He also said their supporters can look forward to their solo performances.
Sungjong, the band's maknae (youngest member), recalled one memorable moment during their world tour. He shared that in one of their concerts, fans were holding placards that indicate the group "should stay forever."
After their Manila concert, Infinite will continue the concert tour in America and Europe. Their last stop will be in Dubai this December.
Sungkyu, the group's leader, said that they plan to rest and take a vacation. He mentioned that he really wanted to visit the country's famed beach destination, Boracay. Also, Sungkyu hinted a possible comeback in the Korean music scene next year.
Towards the end of the press conference, Woohyun told their fans to enjoy the concert and create good memories with them. The 22-year-old singer shared that he couldn't forget Filipino fans whom he described as "very passionate" and "welcoming."
