This Wednesday, April 30, Daniel Padilla will return to the Big Dome to entertain his legions of fans.
DOS: The Daniel Padilla Birthday Concert will take place exactly a year after his first sold-out concert UNO was also held at the Araneta Coliseum.
During his recent appearance on the talk show Aquino and Abunda Tonight, the ABS-CBN actor is aware that he can't please everyone, which is why he would rather ignore negative criticisms about his singing voice.
“Okay lang, nakakatawa kapag hindi sila nagagandahan sa [boses ko]. Okay lang naman po sa akin.
“Kung marami naman akong napapasaya, bakit ko sila papansinin?”
The 19-year-old actor-turned-recording artist has already reached several milestones in his music career.
Daniel got a double platinum award for his self-titled debut album while his second album, DJP, received a triple platinum award in 2013.
This 2014, the teen heartthrob is set to launch his third album titled I Heart You under Star Records.
His loveteam partner Kathryn Bernardo will be one of the special guests during the concert aside from Pinoy Big Brother All In host Toni Gonzaga, Be Careful With My Heart star Richard Yap, and Pilipinas Got Talent finalist Khalil Ramos.
Daniel is also expected to perform with his own band, Parking 5, where he serves as bassist while his brother, Jose "JC" Carlito is the lead singer.
The Kapamilya teen actor says it is a challenge for him to perform with his idol Rico Blanco.
“Opo, excited. Unang-una, idol ko po talaga siya, dati pa, bata pa kami.
"Nung nagrehearsal kami, ang hirap pong kumanta. Hindi naman ko ako nakikipagsabayan, e. Talagang siya na po yun. Ako talaga, kanta-kanta lang.”
ON BEING A ROLE MODEL. When Boy Abunda asked if he feels pressured about being considered a role model, the star of the movie She's Dating The Gangster answered, "Opo."
Daniel said it is important for him to be able to show his true colors.
"Mahirap din minsan pero ayaw ko yung lumalayo na ako o nagpapaka-plastik na ako sa sarili para lang magustuhan nila ako. Ayaw ko namang magpanggap na hindi naman ako ganoon," said the son of Rommel Padilla and Karla Estrada.
