Sarah Geronimo is the winner of the Best Southeast Asia Act at the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards.
The Voice of the Philippines coach now has the opportunity to be voted into the Worldwide Act award category of the MTV EMA.
MTV announced that Sarah topped the votes in Southeast Asia, BiBi Zhou was chosen to represent China & Hong Kong while Hebe Tien emerged as the winner in Taiwan.
They are among 35 artists from around the world now in contention to represent the region. If Sarah wins the next round, she can become one of the final 10 Worldwide Act nominees.
Paras Sharma, Vice President of MTV Brand and Digital Media, was quoted as saying about the Popstar Princess:

From her nominations at the MTV EMA last year to this year’s Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, we knew she was a fast rising Asian star. We will continue to elevate Asian artists at international platforms, grow the awareness and appreciation of Asian music and artists for fans around the world to enjoy.”
Fans have until October 29, Wednesday, (5:59pm Manila time) to vote for Sarah.
The 10 Worldwide Act nominees will be revealed on October 30.
Considered one of the biggest global music events of the year, the 2014 MTV EMA will take place in Glasgow, Scotland on November 9 (November 10, Manila time).
Nicki Minaj will serve as the host of the 20th anniversary of the MTV EMA.
Calvin Harris, Ariana Grande, and Ed Sheeran have been previously confirmed to perform at the event.
British rock legend Ozzy Osbourne will be honored with the Global Icon Award during the ceremony.
