International pop star Justin Bieber has taken notice on social media of a lucky Pinay!
On March 26, 2020, Justin reposted on his Instagram a TikTok dance cover of Filipina Jamina Cruz, who danced to Justin's song "Come Around Me."
According to Jamina's Instagram account, she is a 20-year-old interior design student. She is also under Primastella management, a modelling agency handling the careers of Maureen Wroblewitz and Kelley Day.
As of this writing, Jamina's dance cover has more than 2 million views on Justin's Instagram profile.
Justin's song, which is part of his latest album Changes, is making its rounds in TikTok as the #ComeAroundMeChallenge.
TikTok is an app designed for short-form videos on mobile, with its patrons doing 15- to 60-second dance covers of different songs.
Justin has been reposting dance covers of TikTokers—as patrons of TikTok are also called—on his Instagram account since the #ComeAroundMeChallenge became popular.
Here is Justin's own TikTok video for his song:
On March 20, a Filipina dancer was noticed by another international pop star, Jennifer Lopez, a.k.a. J.Lo.
Netizen Marianne Tubil did the #JLoTikTokChallenge, where she danced to J.Lo's performance at the Super Bowl halftime show this 2020.
J.Lo was impressed with Marianne's dance cover, reposted it on Twitter, and wrote: "loveeeeee [heart emoji]"
