Kapuso star Alden Richards is set to bring his concert to the United States after the success of his online documentary concert ForwARd: Meet Richard Faulkerson, Jr. last January.
On July 1, 2022, Alden wrote on Twitter about “Moving Forward with Purpose.”
In his interview during the TM is the Key Reunion Concert on July 2, Alden revealed the concert's plan to hit four to five cities in the States in August until September.
He said, “So right after matapos ko yung taping ko with Start-Up PH, lilipad kami sa U.S. on those months.”
Alden will be performing in San Mateo, California on the 3rd of September, followed by a show in Valley Center, California, on the 4th, then onwards to Chicago in Illinois and Jacksonville in Florida on the 10th and 11th of September.
Kapamilya star Sue Ramirez will be his special guest in all the shows.
Proceeds of the concert will benefit the AR Foundation Inc., which is dedicated to raising funds for scholars who aspire to achieve their full potential.
ALDEN ON DOING LIVE SHOWS
Alden may have been in the entertainment business for more than ten years, but doing live shows in front of a live audience still makes him feel nervous.
He said, “So, nae-excite lang ako bumalik ulit yung kaba at excitement.
“Kasi before the pandemic, mapunta talaga ako sa mga probinsiya to perform po, e.
"Parang nakaka-excite lang and nakakagigil lang ulit mag-perform on stage in front of a lot of people.”
The GMA-7 star has been doing virtual shows in the past two years, but he's been missing the thrill of bringing good vibes to his fans in live shows.
Alden said, “Since the pandemic, marami rin akong nagawang mga digital show and iba pa rin talaga doing it live, in front of an audience kesa yung puro camera lang yung kaharap mo.
“Iba pa rin talaga with a live audience, e. The energy and the good vibes that you get from the people watching you live is different from, you know, pag wala.”
ALDEN RICHARDS' AR Foundation, Inc.
Even when he's busy juggling his showbiz commitments, Alden never fails to fulfill his duties as the chairperson of his own education-focused foundation.
He expressed pride in producing one college graduate this year and pulling in new scholars for the next school year.
Alden commented, “So meron na po kami, nasala na po namin sila, and they will start probably this coming enrolment.”
Asked how it felt to see his scholars graduate, he said it was something that money can’t buy and has motivated him to do more.
The Kapuso star said, “Masaya, e. If tumutulong ka nang hindi nagbibilang and then you see these kids prosper because of their hard work, it’s priceless for me.
“It’s a thing that money can’t buy. Walang material thing that can, you know, be at par with that experience.
“Masaya lang and it motivates me more. Ngayon nga, my definition of success is not really achieving something for myself, it’s about how I can change people’s lives everyday.”
According to him, the foundation also has lined up activities for the scholars outside of their studies.
He expounded, “We also want to execute different activities for them to be familiar with each other, na hindi lang puro aral nang aral.
“Siyempre, gusto lang din namin ng may fun at good vibes, may power din.
“Tini-take na namin into consideration to do different activities for them para at least maiba lang din yung foundation from other foundations na hindi lang puro scholarships.
"We want them to be whole. Gusto namin holistic yung approach so that when they finish, talagang paying it forward is what we really want to inculcate to these kids.
"Para hindi lang sarili nila ang iniisip nila. We want them to think about the welfare of others as well.”
