Maris Racal is the latest female singer to appear on the New York Times Square digital billboard.
On Twitter, the Kapamilya singer-actress gushed over the good news yesterday, July 21, 2022, through a funny tweet.
She wrote, “nahihilo ako. dati lang akong naglalakad sa new york cubao. di ko naman akalain na aabot ako sa new york times square.”
The digital billboard is part of Spotify’s EQUAL campaign, which aims to empower female singers across the world through their music.
On Instagram, Maris also posted a video capturing her reaction upon seeing her billboard.
She said in the caption (published as is), “this was the moment i learned that my face is up in Times Square. like. OMG. IS THIS REAL? i can’t believe nasa new york ako! Honestly, this inspires me to make more music. Thank you everyone, for believing in me.

She also revealed that the reaction video was her boyfriend Rico Blanco's idea.

Other singers who were featured on the billboard were Julie Anne San Jose, Belle Mariano, and Nadine Lustre, among others.
