Melanie Hernandez Calumpad—more popularly known as Kyla—will be celebrating her 25th birthday with a concert at Klownz Comedy Bar, Quezon Avenue cor. West Avenue, Quezon City on January 5.
Kyla, touted as the R&B princess of the local music industry, will be singing most of the songs from her Beautiful Days album as well as some cover songs of foreign artists such as Mariah Carey and Destiny's Child.
Her guests for her birthday concert include Dennis Trillo as well as comedians Wally Bayola and Jose Manalo. The event, which is dubbed Kyla...A Beautiful Birthday Girl (in concert), starts at 10:00 PM.
Kyla's fifth album under EMI Philippines entitled Beautiful Days includes five covers and nine original singles. The young singer wrote two songs for this album—"Beautiful Days" and "How Am I Gonna Tell You." Her song "Now and Forever" is used as the original soundtrack for GMA-7's drama series with the same title.
