Why did Maja Salvador choose to release a music single instead of creating a new album?
At the recent press conference of her upcoming concert, Only Maja, the ABS-CBN actress revealed that she was indeed offered to do another music album.
However, she declined and decided to release the single “Haplos,” via digital music services iTunes and Spotify.
“Bakit?
'Yong Believe (2014) and Maja In Love (2015) albums ko, thank you, Lord, dahil naging okay naman 'yon.
“Para sa akin, 'yong Believe and Maja In Love, naging okay.
PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked the singer-dancer-actress-host to explain why this should be a problem.
She went on to give details: “For example, sa Ivory ang mga kapatid ko diyan, sina JC de Vera, Myrtle Sarrosa, Jennylyn Mercado...
“Di ba, halos sabay-sabay silang nag-release ng album?
“So, ako, parang sinabi ko na sila naman ang iikot para mag-mall show.
“Ako, magdi-digital na lang muna, magre-release ng single.”
She was quick to clarify that this did not mean she was taking a break from projects related to her music career.
When asked about releasing a music video for “Haplos,” Maja said she was still thinking about it since she would want to co-produce the video if it did push through.
Right now, the Star Magic talent just wants to focus on her third concert, Only Maja, that will take place this Saturday, November 12, at the Music Museum.
