French DJ David Guetta will kick off the concert party scene in the Philippines in 2017!
On January 5, 2017, the Grammy award-winning DJ and music producer will stage his Unity Tour concert live at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
In an exclusive e-mail exchange with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), David said he is already looking forward to playing his new songs for his Filipino fans.
He told PEP, "Manila is a great place to be. I feel like the people here really enjoy my music and are just very friendly. Can’t wait to play my newest music for all of you!"
The last time he played his hits in Manila was back in October 2012 for a solo show at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. What can his Pinoy fans expect from his upcoming concert party?
David wrote, "They can expect a crazy party, because I’m coming to the Philippines loaded with new music! Get ready Filipino fans!"
DAVID GUETTA. At 49 years old, David pointed out that a lot has changed but one thing remains the same: "I have more experience than ever as a DJ and producer. But the feeling I get at every performance, has never changed."
Through the years, David has released chart-topping hits one after another.
These include "Titanium" featuring Sia, "Hey Mama" featuring Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha and Afrojack, "Bang My Head" featuring Sia and Fetty Wap, "Shot Me Down" featuring Skylar Grey, "Without You" featuring Usher, "I Can Only Imagine" featuring Chris Brown, "Sexy Bitch" featuring Akon, and "When Love Takes Over" featuring Kelly Rowland, among many others.
His latest single is titled "This One's For You" featuring Swedish singer Zara Larsson, which is the official soundtrack of the 2016 UEFA European Championships.
Where does he get his inspiration to write these songs?
He answered, "I get inspiration from everything around me, it’s not just one thing."
PEP also took this chance to ask: what is his formula to making a hit?
David explained, "It’s hard to say what makes a song a hit. I think it needs to be catchy and unique at the same time. Definitely two important factors."
If there's one artist he would love to collaborate with, he said, "I think Adele would be a very cool artist to work with."
With tons of new talents coming in, David suggests that artists should stay true to their unique style and musicality in order to stay relevant in the EDM scene.
He said, "I will just keep going as the DJ and producer I’ve always been. I think the most important thing is to stay unique in the sound you produce, so that’s something I think of a lot... to come up with new sounds, concepts."
