Arnel Pineda on being inducted to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: "I don't think I deserve that."

Arnel Pineda, lead vocalist of San Francisco-based rock band Journey, finds his way back to Manila along with original band members Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Ross Valory and Steve Smith after eight long years for a one-night show.

It will take place at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds starting 7:30 P.M. tonight, February 17, 2017.

Journey is among the first-time nominees for induction at the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. However, only the original band members are on the list, excluding Pineda.

“I don’t think I deserve that.

"But you know what, just to be a member of these guys, I mean, of this band, I feel like I’ve been more than inducted, you know, into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” Pineda admitted in a press conference this afternoon at the Grand Ballroom of Marriott Hotel Manila.

Pineda, who was launched into stardom after getting discovered by lead guitarist Neal Schon, is very thankful to his fellow band members.

“Well, it’s been such a great journey.

"I’ve learned so much and I’m still learning more, you know, and I think it’s one of the best thing that has happened in my life, you know, after struggling for 25 years finding my place here in the Philippines and not being able to find it.

"And then suddenly, Neal found me and you know, everything has changed for the better and for my family,” he pointed out.

The iconic rock group that popularized the karaoke-favorite "Don’t Stop Believin’" is set to make their way to Hawaii and Taiwan for the Asian tour before they stay in Las Vegas for three weeks.

The concert will be recorded for a delayed pay-per-view.

Tickets may be purchased at SM ticket outlets or at www.SMtickets.com.
