Filipino iKonics (fan club name) are already excited for the band to perform their chart-topping hits including "Welcome Back," "My Type", "Apology", "Dumb & Dumber," and "Love Scenario."
Before their concert, here are some fun facts to know about iKON:
1. iKON members appeared on reality shows before their debut
Members of iKON members were first known as "Team B" on YG Entertainment's reality survival talent show in Korea called WIN: Who is Next (2013), with their label mates WINNER. In 2014, they appeared once again in another reality show called Mix & Match before they officially became part of the group.
2. B.I. wrote all of iKON's songs
It's safe to say that Kim Hanbin, also known as B.I., is a musical genius. The 22-year-old singer/songwriter is credited as the composer of all of iKON's songs from their two studio albums Welcome Back (2015) and Return (2018), and extended play albums New Kids: Continue (2018) and New Kids: The Final (2018).
This includes the song "Love Scenario" which is the boy band's biggest hit so far with over 200 million views on Youtube, as of press time.
He composed a total of 32 songs since the boy band's debut in 2015!
B.I. also co-wrote WINNER’s debut single "Empty" and Epik High's hit song "Born Hater."
3. Ju-ne did a Michael Jackson cover on Star King
Ju-ne, also known as Koo Jun-hoe, appeared on talent show Star King before his music debut and did a cover of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" and "Dangerous." This is the same music show in South Korea that featured Jake Zyrus, formerly Charice Pempengco, in 2007.
4. Chanwoo played younger versions of Lee Min Ho
Jung Chanwoo has been active in the Korean entertainment scene since 2005. He first started his career as a child model and actor. He played the young versions of Lee Min Ho's characters in popular drama series such as Boys Over Flowers and The Heirs.
5. Bobby won Show Me The Money 3
Bobby, who's real name is Kim Jiwon, won a different reality talent show before being officially named as one of iKON's members. The 22-year-old YG performer first wowed his fans with his talent after winning the third season of Mnet's rap survival program called Show Me The Money. Bobby and his team called "Illionaire"—with fellow K-rappers Dok2 and The Quiett of Illionaire Records—took home $100,000 as prize money.
