MTRCB will follow due process if there are written complaints about My Husband's Lover

Atty. Toto Villareal of the MTRCB said that the government agency would hear complaints against My Husband's Lover if there were specific scenes that the public found inappropriate, given the rating. This soap opera is topbilled by (L-R) Dennis Trillo, Tom Rodriguez, and Carla Abellana.

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board has responded to the reminder of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines regarding GMA Network's teleserye My Husband's Lover.

MTRCB head Atty. Toto Villareal said that the government agency would follow due process in case the government agency receives written complaints about the soap opera topbilled by Dennis Trillo, Tom Rodriguez, and Carla Abellana.

The story revolves around a secret homosexual love affair between the characters played by Dennis and Tom, who is married to the character portrayed by Carla.

In its statement, the MTRCB said that it "acknowledges the call for sensitivity by Fr. Gunegundo Gargante, executive secretary of the CBCP's Episcopal Commission on Youth in respect of the program My Husband’s Lover.

"The SPG [strict parental guidance] rating given to the program is always subject to self-regulation by the network and post-review monitoring by the MTRCB to ensure compliance with the law.

"The MTRCB’s jurisdiction may be invoked by interested members of the general public should there be alleged scenes which may be deemed inappropriate to the said rating.

"Any written complaint filed with the MTRCB shall however be subject to due process in order to give all those concerned the opportunity to be heard."
