Dennis Trillo and Kris Bernal excited for their first teamup via Hiram Na Alaala

Pero i-aarte na parang close kayo," says Dennis Trillo, who claims his Hiram na Alaala leading lady Kris Bernal is very easy to work with.

GMA Network’s upcoming primetime series Hiram Na Alaala brings together two of the Kapuso Network’s hottest stars, Dennis Trillo and Kris Bernal.

They first worked together as siblings in the fantasy-drama Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan in 2007.

Dennis was 26 years old, while Kris was only 18 back then.

ROLES. Fast-forward to 2014, they will bring life to a love story brought about by unexpected circumstances and shared memories.

During the recent presscon for Hiram Na Alaala, Dennis said that he plays Ivan Legaspi, a dedicated soldier who has always dreamt of serving his country.

At work, he becomes friends with Joseph (played by Rocco Nacino), who is fond of telling stories about his beloved girlfriend Andrea Dizon (played by Kris Bernal).

“Pagkatapos nun, yung sobrang traumatic experience na nangyari as amin magbabago yung buhay namin,” says Dennis.

Asked about what’s interesting about his role, the 33-year-old Kapuso heartthrob replies, “Iba siya sa mga [na-play] kong characters dati.

“Masiyahin, daredevil, jack of all trades—para siyang modern day superhero kasi bukod sa sundalo siya, marami siyang ginagawang maliliit na bagay.

“Para sa kanya nile-level up niya yung sarili niya para maging modern-day superhero.”

On the other hand, Kris plays the role of Andrea, a registered nurse and loving girlfriend of Joseph.

When Joseph went missing after a bloody battle with the rebels, Andrea gets devastated and seeks solace from a man who falsely claims to be her boyfriend.

CHEMISTRY. In spite of their eight-year age gap, Dennis relates that he didn’t have a hard time establishing rapport with Kris on the set of Hiram Na Alaala.

Kris equally admires Dennis’s passion for his craft, which she noticed when they first worked together seven years ago.

CAREER GROWTH. At this point in her career, the former StarStruck alumna is grateful to GMA not only for entrusting her with good projects.

“Yung effort nila dun ako ginaganahan na, ‘Oh my god! Nagbubuhos sila masyado sa akin. Kailangan magbuhos din ako [ng effort] in return.”

As for Dennis’s career, he’s glad to be doing something far from his gay role in his previous teleserye My Husband’s Lover.
