GMA-7 switched Sahaya to an earlier timeslot, allowing the prime-time series to be pitted against ABS-CBN's Ang Probinsyano.
Sahaya, top-billed by Bianca Umali and Miguel Tanfelix, was moved to take over the slot previously occupied by Kara Mia. Barbie Forteza and Mika Dela Cruz were the lead stars of the now defunct fantasy series Kara Mia.
According to Sahaya lead actress Bianca, a lot of BiGuel fans will be able to watch their show now since most of them are students.
“Tama naman po yun since most of the people who support Miguel and I are young people, the earlier time slot will help us para mapanood nila kami,” said Bianca in a recent interview with 24 Oras.
The Kapuso actress pointed out that they have been more focused on the plot of their program and not on the ratings registered by the show.
“Ever since we started the show, we never really based our show on the ratings or time slot or kung ano yung katapat namin or sino—we only focus sa story namin.”
Lead actor Miguel feels challenged being pitted against an ABS-CBN show that has been airing for almost four years.
“Siyempre alam naman namin na yung show na katapat namin ay sobrang established na, kung baga mas motivated lang kami ngayon,” said Miguel.
Bianca and Miguel will be seen in the movie Family History, which will open in cinemas on July 24, 2019. It is produced by GMA Pictures and Michael V's Mic Test Entertainment.
