Alex Gonzaga will surely miss portraying her character Diane in the early primetime series Pure Love.
“Siguro this character na ginawa ko, is the only character that I portrayed that I really connected,” said Alex in an interview after the October 4 press conference for the finale of the show.
She continued, “Whenever I'm portraying the character, I feel like I'm really the character.
“Kasi, usually when I cry, lagi kong iisipin ang mga past kong ginagawa.
“Pero kapag naka-Diane ako, babasahin ko pa lang ang script, naaawa na ako sa kanya.
“'Tapos kapag naririnig ko na ang 'Gisingin ang Puso,' naiiyak na ako, 'yon ang motivation ko, parang nagiging Diane ako.”
While working on this series based on a Koreanovela of the same name, Alex learned, “[You] to be the character that you play.”
Since it will be the last two weeks of the teleserye, the younger sister of Toni Gonzaga admits that she feels sad about not being able to play the role of Diane again.
“Ang lungkot lang kasi iiwanan na namin ang character, hindi na kami magkikita-kita.
“Ako, personally, si Diane, natutuwa ako sa character niya, na-love ko na. Ang hirap niyang iwanan,” Alex said.
In the last two weeks of the series, TV viewers can expect more revelations in Pure Love now that Diane (played by Alex Gonzaga) has discovered that Ysabel (Yen Santos), the owner of the body she inhabits, is her long lost sister Danica. This teleserye airs weeknights before TV Patrol on ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida.
How will the truth change Diane and Ysabel’s lives now that they only have two more days to complete the mission? What will pave the way for Diane to get the last “pure love tear” she needs to wake up and reunite with her whole family?
Directed by Veronica Velasco, Pure Love also features Arron Villaflor, Yam Concepcion, and Anna Luna. Completing the cast are Sunshine Cruz, John Arcilla, Ana Capri, Bart Guingona, Dante Ponce, and Shey Bustamante.
